February 10, 2006 Dear Fellow Restaurateur,
Once again the Dare County Restaurant Association is gearing up for their annual charity fundraiser, Taste of the Beach. The date is March 26th, 2006, from 1:00-4:00 PM at The Ramada Inn ($15 per person for non-entries), Kill Devil Hills. Again, we will be offering a monetary prize as well as the coveted silver All the restaurants that participate in the event will set up a small booth where representatives will give out samples of food and beverage menu items of their choosing. Actual food preparation is permissible. The use of butane cook burners is preferred but not required. If you are in need of electrical outlets I will need to know so that I can allocate your booth location. The DCRA will be providing tables, linens & disposable service ware, which includes plates, soufflé cups, sporks & napkins. For the past few years, our guest attendance was 500-700 so prep accordingly for small samples. We are allowing FOUR people to work each booth. If you need additional staff you will have to pay $15.00 for each, NO exceptions. There is no entrance fee but all participants must be dues-paid members of DCRA. Dues are $75.00 and can be sent to PO Box 2283, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. This is a great opportunity for new restaurants to be introduced to the Outer Banks and for existing restaurants to promote new menu items, services, or house specialties. Please make plans to join us this year. If you are unable to participate please donate gift certificates, hats, T-shirts etc. to raffle off during the event.
