Dare County Restaurant Association

BIG THINGS ARE ON THE HORIZON WITH THE DARE COUNTY RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION!

For the first time in the history of our Association, the DCRA is launching a SPRING MARKETING CAMPAIGN. This effort is designed to brand the Association (membership = value) and to encourage eating out. Members who attended the January, 2006 meeting were able to participate in the creative process by viewing mock ups for the print portion of the campaign.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED NOW! This campaign is set to begin the week before Easter and run for 4 - 6 weeks utilizing print, radio and TV. Initial creative included "Top 10 reasons to eat out". Right now you can help by sending us your ideas and opinions.

The next big issue is OUR FOCUS. Given the recent influx of chain restaurants in our area, we are considering adding the word "INDEPENDENT" to our name. By shifting our purpose we will have the opportunity to leverage the strength of our diversity when promoting ourselves. We all know that the Outer Banks is already known for it's unique restaurants. Let's focus on that strength. A formal motion will be presented at the next meeting but, I am asking for your feedback NOW!

Please EMAIL ME at ben@pitsurf.com or CALL ME at 480-3128 ext. 7! Help me out - I really value your input. Together we can take the DCRA to the next level.

Our industry is a major force in our local economy. I am committed to bringing the local food service community together to capitalize on this strength as I represent you while serving on the following Boards and Committees:

  • The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau
  • Dare County Transportation Task Force
  • Dare County Transportation Advisory Board
  • Kill Devil Hills Planning Board
  • Dare Coalition Against Substance Abuse
Please take a moment to read the meeting minutes. It is an exciting time for the DCRA. Between the creation of the first marketing campaign and the excitement around refocusing the goals of our organization, there has never been a better time to get involved! Even a little bit of your time can help make a big difference. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Benjamin Sproul
President, DCRA
